Loudoun County is a combination system, utilizing both career and volunteer fire fighters and EMTs to serve Loudoun County.  The majority of our stations are owned and operated by the volunteer companies.  Additionally, the majority of the apparatus in the stations is owned and operated by the volunteer companies. Loudoun County has been the nation’s top 5 growing counties for the past decade*.  It is estimated that Loudoun County will house over 300,000 residents by 2013 **   With the increase in homes and businesses also comes an increase in in Emergency Response.  In 2010 Loudoun County Fire-Rescue responded to 21,473 Fire and EMS calls.  It is estimated that by 2013 Loudoun Fire-Rescue will respond to over 26,000 calls a year.  Volunteers are needed in the operational and adminstrative capacity to help answer the calls.
